worth it

got this watch on sale at sears for around 25$ i needed an alarm but hate the all digital watches and couldn't afford an all analog watch with alarm and chrono so i got this. casio makes way more analog/digital combo watches that any other maker. this watch is fantastic, large buttons, simple digital functions, you got the time on top then month,day and day of week on bottom. then alarm, stopwatch and a second timezone if you need that on bottom instead of the date..illuminator blue light lights up analog and digital display.. if i could change one thing i would give this watch a glass crystal because after a while you get scratches because its a plastic face. But all you need is to buff it with 'white paste style toothpaste' and it looks brand new again. Some people might have trouble reading the digital display, its not very big.

tough, reliable watch

This watch has performed flawlessly for a few years, all the while being subjected to rugged use in the pool, in the ocean, while running, etc. Watchband broke after about 1.5 years. Mine was truly waterproof for the pool and ocean (no diving). So comfortable I even forgot it was on when getting in shower. Digital readout not easy to read while running, which is inconvenient when you want to use stopwatch function.

Good cheap watch

As long as your expectations are not too high, you are likely to be happy with this watch. With my old failing eyesight, I wanted something that was easy to read in good and bad light. This fits the bill nicely. Keeps very good time and is pretty easy to set. But there is nothing fancy about it, which is what you should expect for $25. Cheap looking hands with no glow in the dark paint on a plain painted dial. No fancy patterns, relief or anything else. Black dail with gold hash marks.Day, date/timer is tiny, but readable with glasses. Backlight works well on main face and day date window. I wear in shower with no issues. Supposed to be safe for swimming and snorkeling. Band is comfortable. More flexible than past plastic bands. Hope that doesnt mean it falls apart sooner but it might. I looked for a long time for an inexpensive watch that had date that was easy to read and am very happy with this one.Update Sept 2011: This watch is still going strong two years later. The band fell apart a few months ago but was easily replaced for a few bucks. Plastic "crystal" scratches easily but what do you expect for this price. The case has faded from black to dark gray but not a big issue. Overall, it has held up relatively well and the fact that it is still working makes it a buy in my book

7 years of good usage

Well, this coming August is going to be 5 years wearing, using and abusing this watch. No problems so far with it, the battery is still strong (the backligt feature has not dimmed at all) and water resistance is definitively there. I use it at least once a week for swimming in a pool, and I have taken it a few times for short dives in the ocean. Some people dismissed the data bank feature as "useless" or "a thing of the past" just because we have now so many other devices (blackberries, iphones, even regular cellphones). However, I still use my watch to store critical, usually short information such as alarm passwords (like my office's, which is changed monthly), password combinations for banking, websites, etc. I guess I could use my cellphone for that as well, but in terms of retriving, nothing beats a look at the wrist and pressing a couple of buttons! My only big complain with this watch over 5 years is how easily the crystal picks up scratches. I have to admit that I am partly to blame for that. I've used it on several rough camping trips, and I have no pitty on the watch when it comes to using it...just love it. I hope I can give another update in 5 years, possibly with the battery still alive.- Update, July 1st 2010: Well, now oficially well into the second quinquennium, I can only say that the watch just keep on going, no problems to report, just a few more scratches than a year ago. The 10-year battery life looks more and more like a reality for this little jewel.-Update, June 2011: OK, this is a good run for the watch. After 7 years, the battery finally died. No complaints; 7 out of 10 years is not bad at all. Highly recommended time piece.

The watch looks sober and stylish.PROS:1. Casio make, presumably good quality materials and movement.2. Nice designCONS:1. Light is feeble and does not illuminate the digital panel2. Case of watch is not completely stainless steel, lower part is resin. In my last casio the resin clasp for the watch band broke. I bought this because I thought it would be stainless steel, but its not really.3. The mineral dial cover is convex, so it will pick up scratches (like my last casio). I prefer flat watches4. The watch is thick (say 3/60")

Overall, great appearance and features

As the watch band was too large for me, I had to remove one link. It was not difficult as one side of band has 7 links, the other 6. If smaller adjustment is needed, remove one of the links from the side that has 7 links, don't remove the link next to the clasp, remove the one next to it. Look at the back of the band. You will see arrows and below them, a small opening with a round raised nub. To remove a link, insert a small jeweler's type screw driver and PRESSING DOWN, at the same time push on nub in the direction of the arrow and the link will come out part of the way. It can be removed with needle nose pliers or if it's already loose enough, may be able to pull the pin out with your fingers. The watch has many great features. I highly recommend this watch, not only for its appearance but for the sheer number of outstanding features.

Give silicone a chance! I didn't think I'd like it

Had my eyes set on the identical Fossil watch with a black stainless band. After seeing a friends black stainless Movodo get scratched and show the silver color through, I decided to try on the silicone version. It made the watch so much lighter! I'm much more likely to wear it now! The band has a much more matte finish, which I think is much more masculine than shiny metal (ceramic or black stainless). Sporty, yet stylish

At first I thought the watch would have been too big for my wrist (as they are a bit thin) but it works out quite nicely. The silicone band is great for sporting applications (sweat), while still maintaining its bold black style to the overall finish of class. The white tip of the clock hands look really good. Also, the hands of the left and right chronographs are blue, which adds a great touch. I'm quite happy with Fossil brand watches and this one is no different.

I ordered this watch here on Amazon. I love it. Its perfect for my job here in afghanistan as it looks nice with my black and white uniform, and the rubber bank gives it a ruggedness about it. The performance so far is perfect. The only complaints are that they face has gotten slightly scratched and the black dial has worn off a little but in places with the silver showing through. I guess this can be expected as I've been wearing this watch everyday for over a year now. I would even consider buying this same watch again in the future when mine is worn out.

what fun! My 8 year old loves it.

This is just a fun toy to play with when your 8 years old.I don't know how educational it is, except it tells time and you have to have some amount of memory capabilities in order to remember how to press teh buttons and make it do what you want it to do.My eight year old has recently been interested in spies, spying on others, being sneaky. With this in mind he got this watch from Grandma for his birthday.It tells the time, there is a little cover that pops up and down on it, and there are buttons to push that make this watch do other sneaky things. This watch has been put in my son's 'spy bag' which is any backpack he has on hand. It has been stuffed to the bottom of this bag and it has not broken yet. It has also been slept on, slept in, and dropped behind the bed. It has been inside and outside. This is a big hit and it has been very sturdy.Enjoy.

Got this for the kid and- surprise, surprise- he loved it. I think a lot of moms don't understand that, so that's where dad comes in, doesn't it? This watch is a good little gift. Not quite as fun as the mirror shades (you can see behind you), but my son still loved this. Highly recommended.

I got this watch from Amazon (at it's very agreeable price) for those casual jeans and T shirt days, but after a few months, I've come to like sporting it on my wrist much more often.First, even though it come at a comparatively cheap price, it doesn't have a cheap feel. It's quite solid piece with no flimsiness at all (which was my first impression of a couple of other U. S. Polo watches). The size is great, big but not too much, just large enough to be in the masculine mode.After ten months or so of use, both the digital and analog time is still accurate. The lineup of digital functions is pretty simple and easy to figure out. And the digital display ( a sharp looking negative light on black) is large enough to easily see at a glance.I like the black rubber strap. It's got a "tire-tread" design that looks cool. A great black analog-digital appearance with just enough orange accents to make it's looks really sizzle.

This watch is awesome. It is comfortable and is an easy to use watch! This is the only U.S Polo watch i would buy. It is heavy and i like that. It makes me feel like i got power. I have own alot of watches and for $20 thats a great price for a watch that is durable and looks good! I would recomend this people that want a watch that looks good and will last a while!

For the stylish, comfortable, and versatile design of this watch, the price can't be beat. I really can't say more. My ONLY complaint is that it's only water-resistant and not waterproof so I can't go swimming with it or submerge it for a prolonged period of time. This is a great buy for any lady looking to put a smile on their man's lips!
