Has a lot of potential!

Very few people know how a smart watch could actually benefit them. 1. Because the marketing on these types of devices has been non-existent. 2. Cellphones helped kill wrist watches. I think if some of these tech companies were smart they would continue development and provide more features. This type of device could create a whole new sub-industry just like Bluetooth headsets just kind of popped into the scene and have now become commonplace. No body knew what they did or what purpose they would have. We first started seeing people walking and talking to themselves and then driving and talking to themselves until we finally all realized that they were actually on the phone. I'm sure you all had that bizarre experience. Well I think smart watches will be slower to adopt until we get real innovation and great emotional marketing behind it.I currently have widgets disabled because I noticed is slows the watch down and just have Txt msg, Missed calls, Call handler, Calendar, and Gtalk notify enabled. Just the txt messaging feature and call handling alone is worth it for me.Sometimes the phone loses connection with the watch but most times if the phone is near I get a nice connection for then entire day. I really wish Sony would continue developing the software for this but I kind of doubt it. Sony has a habit of putting out technology and not really following through if sales aren't up in my opinion. I do see a lot of room for growth and I would like to customize the interface more but other then that it's a great first step in what will become the next big thing that's if Google glass doesn't steel its thunder.Here are a few examples on how I use/enjoy my Sony Smartwatch:1.When driving I like getting notifications and not having to check my phone while diving. I can choose to respond at a light or wait till I get to my destination.2.If I'm at a noisy bar I really feel special reading a txt I get. People notice and it's a great conversation starter.3.You can know who is calling you before you pull your phone out of your tight skinny jeans. For the ladies they will know who is calling them before they can dig it out of their bag.

Great concept, poor execution.

When I initially heard about this watch, I was very excited. Where I work I'm not allowed to have my phone out whenever I wish to. This would allow me to discretely see who's calling me, or what texts I might have.I've had this device for over a month now, and while when it works it's great, its flaws drag it down terribly.First flaw, charging. The device does not use the fairly standard micro-usb port when plugging it in. Instead it has a four pin charging cable that matches to 4 pins on the device. The cable is only help in place by the spring loaded clip that holds the watch to the watch band. Any jostling while setting the device down has the potential to break contact with the pins causing it to not charge. I've found it best to just remove it from the band when charging and even then making sure its actually charging before leaving.Two related problems with the clip itself are the fact that the pin holding the clip to the device itself has come loose on me twice, though I've managed to slide it back into place, I shouldn't have to. The other problem is the fact the plastic loop the pin slides into is very thin, and looks as it could break easily.Yet another flaw is the fact the device is extremely sensitive to vibration, and enough of a shock will turn the device on without the power button being pressed. Unfortunately with my job it gets many vibration shocks through my arm throughout the day, thus draining battery life considerably.It also has the annoyingly frequent habit of losing connection to the phone, even when it is only inches from the handset, I do not exaggerate! This is perplexing as I've also been quite some distance from my phone and it works fine.Now even with all these flaws when it's working properly it is indeed a very handy device. As mentioned in the beginning, its usefully for checking who's calling, reading texts, and I've also used it for my to do lists, checking the weather, and other things. The most amusing, and considering the tightness of the seating useful use I've had for the watch was being able to silence the phone at the theater without having to contort myself to dig it out of my pocket.However despite its usefulness I cannot in good conscience recommend this device to anyone at this time, particularly at that price point. Sony appears to have tried to create a useful device at a reasonable price point, but cut too many corners to achieve that goal.I can only hope if there is a second generation if this device, they do better.

Really like this, Very useful

This watch is a companion to an Android Smartphone and pairs by bluetooth. I have it connected to the GSM version of the Samsung Google Nexus (Ice Cream Sandwich/ICS version). The watch connects to your phone and runs a selection of both widgets and applications. The apps designed to run on the watch are those that are very useful for doing/checking quick things that you don't want to take your smartphone out for, i.e. reading text messages, seeing whose calling your phone & sending back pre-defined text messages, checking missed calls, controlling your music player app, turning your phone's sound mode (normal, vibrate, silent), gchat notifications, meeting reminders, weather updates with detail, facebook status, twitter updates, etc. There are new apps being added all the time.I really find it useful for things like when I'm driving and I don't want to pick up the phone, i just turn my wrist and can quickly see who is calling (you can also decline from there), or when I'm working or doing something that requires both hands and I have a bluetooth headset in my ear...I can scroll through my contact favorites and just dial from the watch. Or when I'm in a meeting and someone texts me and I don't want to appear to not be paying attention, I can just look at my wrist and read the text and even hit a quick reply saying "in a meeting, let me call you back later."The watch "face" can easily be attached to different color bands or you can even attach it to other 20mm bands. (I bought 2 additional colors..definitely recommend the gray.)

Upgraded from Garmin 405

I purchased this with hopes of better functioning bezel in wet, humid, or sweaty conditions. This had been a source of frustration with the 405 - either not responding, or scrolling through the screens on its own. The 410 has fixed this issue - allowing for better user control of the watch. In cold conditions, i have found the watch to be a bit unresponsive while wearing gloves - sometimes have to remove glove to get a bezel response.... but still better than the 405.In addition, i have been pleasantly surprised by how quick the Satellite connects. No more wasting time at the start of a run waiting for the Satellite to establish connecting. The 410 has cut this time in half. Fairly spendy, but well worth it if training/running is a big part of your life.

Great tool until battery problems started

When I first purchased my Forerunner 410 in November 2010, I thought it was the best thing ever. For the first three to four months, I was thrilled with it. Unfortunately, as my marathon training progressed I started to notice the watch doing some odd things. At first it would occasionally reboot for no apparent reason. Over the following weeks, the problem got worse and worse. As it did, the battery life also started becoming unstable. Sometimes the 410 would work OK, but the best case battery life dropped to 4-5 hours instead of the 8 I got out of it during those first months. In the worst cases, I would take the watch off the charger in the morning, shut it down until my run, and had a dead battery before I had gone one mile. The display that shows the battery life remaining is pretty much worthless now. And, it still suffers from reboots for no obvious reason - often at inopportune times, like during my marathon.If you only do short to medium runs length runs, or are very fast, then the fact that the battery life seems to have problems might be acceptable for your situation. If you're planning on doing runs of several hours, won't be able to recharge it before every run, or won't find reboots during runs/races acceptable, then you might want to look for something other than the 410. When it works right, it really is a great tool for training. But, if you need a device you can count on, you might want to wait and see how the reviews look on the new Forerunner 610 or consider going with one of the older, cheaper, and more proven devices like the 305.If you're still on the fence about purchasing a Forerunner 410 (or 405/405cx for that matter), I'd suggest you visit the Garmin forums (forums .garmin .com) and take a look at the posts by various owners who are having similar hardware/software related problems so you can make an informed decision.Edited 5/1/11 - At this point my Forerunner 410 has become totally unreliable. I had taken it to Nashville to use during the Country Music Marathon yesterday. It had been fully charged and shutdown before I left. When I turned it on an hour or so before the race, it immediately said "low battery" and shut itself down. I charged it again when I got home. This morning it read 100% charged and I shut it down. This afternoon when I tried it use it, it again said "low battery" and shut itself down. I've again contacted Garmin about the problem. Maybe they'll replace it this time instead of just suggesting things like firmware updates and charge/discharge cycling.

POLAR, SUUNTO OR GARMIN???

After reading some comments, I was expecting a serious learning curve. I'd braced myself & was prepared for confusion & frustration. I'm that 40yo guy who returned his first Android phone because there was too much to configure. I'm hardly some techie.If you purchase a device like this for all it does, don't expect to grasp 'all it does' in the first ten minutes. Perhaps that's why some get frustrated. Then they come to Amazon to vent and punish Garmin because they thought operating a Range Rover would be the same as operating a tricycle. If you don't want to have to learn anything, then purchase a device that doesn't do as much for you to have to learn. Timex offers a basic heart rate watch for under $50. You'll be up and running in seconds.I won't go over everything the GF410 does, but I'll share my experience from set-up to upload. If you're thinking about Polar & Suunto, keep reading.SET-UPThe 410 is a very features-packed, high-quality, stylized device that is mostly easy to use. The touch bezel *is* different, but it's easy to make sense of when you understand the simple idea. In less than one hour, I was able to flow. The watch even guides you through a brief operational tutorial before you can use it. Garmin has done all they can to make it easy to understand something forward and different whilst still functional. However, it's just not too practical. As you circle the watch, your finger blocks the options that come up.Sign up on Garmin Connect, enter your info & Garmin computes your heart rate zones. (It helps if you already know your resting rate. There is an Android app for that) Within a few minutes, I was able to build a heart-rate-based work-out interval - from warm-up to V02max. (You can look up heart rate interval training on YouTube if the idea is new to you.) You can also set up speed and distance intervals. The site holds your hand. However, most folks probably won't know what to do with the specific heart rate info feedback. The graphs require a professional or special training to do anything with.If you're unfamiliar with interval training (for speed, distance or heart rate), go to YouTube & look up "Polar Sport Zones".I ran into a bump whilst installing ANT. Apparently, some computers need an additional Windows file to run the program. In case ANT won't download, the file you might need is vcredist_x86. It doesn't make anything run in the background or install a start-up. It's just some component which allows for ANT technology, apparently. Everything else, smooth sailing. Without any prodding, ANT will transfer any new data between watch & computer within seconds.As for the hardware, it's a much higher quality product than anything from Polar or Suunto. Even the design & detail of the wrist strap is impressive. Garmin throws in 2 extra cloth straps and the tools to install them. The box includes two additional charger plug-ins for foreign electrical outlets. The chest strap is soft material. The entire package feels really high-end, polished & complete.ON THE ROADEverything worked as planned. Having used the 305 before, I was impressed with how quickly the 410 acquires satellites, even whilst indoors, downstairs. The 410 took me through my custom work out w/o a hitch. I came home and, by the time I'd hydrated & cleaned-up, everything was uploaded and graphed online. No peripherals, no cables, nothing to turn on or click. BAD ASS!I do have a couple of minor gripes. Unlike the 310xt, the 410 doesn't offer vibrating feedback. You can set alarms to remind you to hydrate or eat during a long run, but those alarms are only audible. So, if you're listening to music, you won't hear them. Nothing major, but would be nice to have.I usually program my run on the website. Programming on the watch itself simply makes no sense to me.I found the battery life to be rather good. I'd logged 6 hours of runs, w/the light on for 2, and was left with a 76% charge. I don't need to charge it every night, as some say. Fortunately, the unit can be turned completely off when not in use. This makes all the difference. I'd rather have a battery I can recharge once or twice a week whilst sleeping, than to have to ship it off for new batteries every year.COMPARISON: POLARPolars are known for their detailed heart rate feedback programs. The 410 collects much of the same information and 'Connect' displays plenty of feedback as well. You can always plug your information into other sites for even more detail. Polars use foot pods to track distance & pace instead of GPS. The pod is large & must be calibrated for each pair of shoes. That's a pain. It does, however, offer cadence feedback, but Garmin offers a smaller foot pod that does so as well. Of course, some Polars offer GPS add-ons. The closest competition to the 410, however, is the RS800x. It doesn't offer GPS add-on. Some Polars require a $44 FlowLink device to transfer workouts. A bit of a rip-off when ANT, USB cable, WiFi & bluetooth are free. Polar's RS800x, like the RS300x SD, feels substantially cheaper than the 410. On both Polars, the screens are very dim, offer no contrast or contrast settings, the backlights are a joke and the buttons are cheap. Polars just feel really dated and chintzy. Polar has poor customer service as well. I'm 'speaking' from personal experience.COMPARISON: SUUNTOI've never owned a Suunto, but they seem to be more geared for those traversing mountains with their altimeters and barometric pressure gauges. If you're a serious runner who takes on trails & pavement, you'd probably be better suited to a Garmin or Polar. If you're on a budget, the Polar RS300x SD is your guy. If you scale Annapurna or Mt. Kilimanjaro, then go with Suunto.CONCLUSIONFor those who appreciate what Garmin's Forerunner 410 has to offer but find themselves confused, spend some time with it. Look up YouTube vids, join the forum if need be. You'll be up & running in no time.If you're new to these devices or this sort of training, dcrainmaker offers detailed information about training and watches. He'll always answer questions & he loves what he does.If you've been running for a while and seem to have stagnated, the 410 will make running fun again, offering new challenges for speed and heart rate. Remember the first few months of running, when you had smaller, reachable goals & saw marked progress quickly? It's that same experience again. You'll begin to see progress and have something to work toward again. I'd already run a marathon, so my daily runs wouldn't be longer. I didn't find myself getting any faster either. HR watches will really jump-start your running again.If you purchase a device like this for all it does, don't expect to grasp 'all it does' in the first ten minutes. The screen is a bit small. The touch bezel isn't very practical and programming a run on the device makes zero sense, but it does a lot, works well and attention to detail goes a long way w/ me. I love and recommend this device, particularly if you already have a distance running base and wish to increase performance, fitness, speed... & fun!

Nice watch mister!

I've only had this watch for about a week, so can't really comment about the long term durability. However, it is ultra cool watch.Although I've not got a scale handy at the moment, but it seems to be lighter than my iPod Nano. Really a featherweight watch, and therefore very comfortable to wear.The dial color really can't be adaquately captured in a picture. It is VERY attractive, much more striking than the image indicates. Several people have asked where I purchased it.I'm very happy with this choice.

Not useful for beer chugging contests

My wife's first reaction when opening the box in which my SKAGEN TITANIUM BLACK MESH WATCH was delivered was, "Why does something so small come in such a large shipper?" I don't know - to meet a lumber company's quota of slaughtered defenseless baby trees, I suppose. Her next reaction, on seeing the timepiece itself, was, "What a gorgeous watch! But I don't need one." Um, it's for me, actually, I answered. "You mean, you wouldn't buy me a watch?" Sigh. And this after I'd reluctantly forked over fifteen bucks to have her ancient wrist ticker cleaned to a lustrous shine.The 3 cm diameter face of MY new watch is a rich steel blue that appears to radiate brilliant cerulean rays as you turn it in the light. I immediately noticed that it has no second hand, a fact that made it impossible to quickly discern if time was standing still or not, especially as it emits no ticking sound FX. After contemplating the minute hand for awhile, I was satisfied that I wouldn't have to take it to the watch repair shop for a battery. In any case, the absence of a second hand doesn't distress me unduly, though I won't be able to time the chugs at the next beer guzzling contest that I blunder into.The face is mounted in a shiny, jet black casing which is, at its thickest, one-half centimeter thin. The watch weighs in at 43 grams, or 1.51678 ounces if you haven't yet gone metric. The classy, black mesh band is approximately 1.75 cm (0.6889764 inches) wide and 23.5 cm (9.251969 inches) in length including the clasp.According to the engraving on the back of the case, the timepiece is water resistant up to 3 atmospheres (.02204392 ton/square inch). Cool.Speaking of clasp, the most daunting task is to figure out the band's latching mechanism, especially if you're mechanically obtuse like me. Over dinner at a local kebab house, I spent about 10 minutes struggling with the problem before the solution dawned. I hadn't thought to bring along the instructions, which explains it all quite clearly, including diagrams:"Pull the hook over the pin.Close clasp (it should snap).Close security clasp."The only problem I foresee will be strapping the watch to my wrist in the morning, especially if the tremors of advancing age and senile dementia are particularly severe that day. And if it's still dark out and I can't turn on the light because the wife is still getting her beauty sleep, the watch will have to go into my pocket for a more illuminated opportunity. If you'd rather have the convenience of an expanding flex band, this Skagen isn't for you.In case you're wondering, the band's length is adjustable, a project that was itself, minus the user's booklet, pretty much self-defeating in my case. After several minutes of finger nail inserting, tugging, and general cussing over the chicken kebab and rice, I gave up until I got home and read:"Simply insert a small screwdriver or similar tool into the clasp as shown above (in another handy diagram). Lift up the clasp and move to desired position. Snap closed securely. Make sure the clasp is set in one of indentations on the back of the band."My disconcerting experiences with the (non-existent) second hand and the band closure aside, the SKAGEN TITANIUM BLACK MESH WATCH is all I'd hoped for and expected it to be when I transmitted the credit card number to order the thing. It's pretty spiffy, if you ask me. Just so long as the wife keeps her covetous hands off it.5/4/08 Note: The specs listed on the current product page for this watch indicate a "fold-over-clasp", which is not the one on the watch I purchased. Perhaps the former is a better clasp that was added to meet customer reservations concerning the latter.2/13/10 Note: A problem that has surfaced over time, and which reduces my rating of this watch to 4 stars, is with the mesh band. About a year after I originally purchased the time piece, one of the fine metal threads that forms the weave of the mesh broke, resulting in a pointy-rough spot that would catch on clothes, particularly my pants, and pull out a pile in the fabric. I took it to a watch shop to have the band replaced with a plain leather strap, or some other that wasn't a mesh, but I was told the band could only be replaced by an identical one, which cost me about $40. This second band has now begun to unravel like the first. Even though the time piece itself has performed flawlessly, the repeated problem with the mesh band has caused me to buy a new watch, the FOSSIL AM4159 ANALOG MEN'S WATCH, which has a flexible band made of links.

Like Everything But The Clasp

I've had this watch for about six months and, overall, have been fairly happy with it. I like the looks of the watch, with its rather unusual blue dial, and find it easy to read. It also keeps excellent time. The only thing I do not like is the clasp. It's a little difficult to put on and the bottom tends to get scratched and, sometimes, caught on things. It has also come loose a couple of times, and I do not find it easy to tighten.In all, I like the watch but if I bought it again I'd look for a regular clasp.

This watch is attractive and well made at an excellent price point. I found it identical in function to other Timex models that cost twice the price. This watch has the following modes: time 1, time 2, alarm, stopwatch, and timer, all with indiglo option. The watch also notes the day and date. I found the watch very easy to set and operate, and recommend it to anyone.

Love this watch

I was in the market for a new digital watch. The band on my old watch broke and replacement bands ran about $15 to $20 so I figured why not try and replace the watch. I then found this watch for under $20 and it looked sporty and had nice big numbers for my fading eyesite:o) My wrists are very tiny so it is very hard for me to find a nice watch without looking in the kids department so I figured I would give this watch a try. I definitely made the right choice. This is a really great watch. It fits my wrist on the second to last hole so people with bigger wrists still have 8 holes to go. The band is dark charcoal and the watch face is silver with pink on the sides. Looks much better in person. It has a timer, alarm, shows the date and the seconds as well as a button to press for a backlight to see the time if it is dark.

My son is 9 and he loves this watch. He is able to set the alarm, so he always gets home from friends house right on time. Indiglo works great too. He wears it 24/7. He also likes that it is waterproof, so he can wear in the tub or shower or in the pool.

A few observations for a prospective purchaser

Having owned the GW500AJP-1AV for a week, here are my thoughts on some of the points raised by the reviewers of this and other G-Shock models:1. In my opinion, concerns about the thickness of the watch have been overstated. Certainly, if slimness is an *important* criterion for you, this isn't your watch. But you'll have no trouble fitting it under your shirt cuff. [Though the manual cautions that doing so will hamper the solar function.] Even my ridiculously slender wrists support it - physically and (I hope) esthetically - without difficulty.2. The G-Shock models are advertised as rugged. I'm not about to use mine as a hockey puck to put that to the test. But it certainly *feels* sturdy. [The thickness helps here.] And from what I've read about them elsewhere, they do shrug off a considerable amount of punishment.3. Everyone's experience with receiving the timekeeping signal from Fort Collins will vary depending on the particulars of their location and the attention they pay to the manual. I live only 350 miles from the transmitter but with modestly sized mountains in between - which can be a dealbreaker. Although it took a longer period of motionlessness for the watch to lock in than the manual had told me to allow, it has received a strong signal ever since. [And keep in mind that the watch is accurate to 15 seconds a month even without synchronization.]3. When I first unpacked the watch, the battery level was at Medium - which you would expect after it having been in a box for who knows how long. After 3 hours of direct exposure to bright sunlight [which you should do in the early morning to keep the watch from roasting], the battery level has remained High ever since.4. The four control buttons are slightly recessed - for decreased vulnerability, I imagine. This means you will need to operate them with a directly perpendicular press by the edge of your fingernail, rather than an angled mashing under the meat of your fingertip. I can see why this irritates some people. [It did require a small mental adjustment on my part.] However, I think it was a legitimate design decision.5. The leftmost of the three circular "gauges" at the top of the display is meant to mimic the sweep of a minute hand on an analog watch. Speaking as someone whose attachment to that visual "pie-slice" style of time reading has been my main reason for sticking with analog watches until now, I think it's a terrific idea. In practice, though, the gauge is too small to be useful for that purpose. [For my eyes, anyway.] However, I don't mind particularly - since I think the three gauges look cool simply as decoration.6. Someone else commented that the black resin wrist band is not replaceable. I'm not sure if that's true. However, replacing it would be no casual affair. So if you won't be content with this kind of band, you should look for a different watch. I prefer leather bands myself. But this one is in keeping with the toughness of the rest of the watch and certainly comfortable enough to wear.On the whole, I'm very happy with this purchase. If you enjoy having an accurately set timepiece - and who doesn't? - it's difficult to overstate the satisfaction of radio-synchronization. A good mechanical watch is accurate to 5 seconds a day. A good quartz watch is accurate to less than 1 second a day. As long as it's in signal range, this watch will be accurate to less than 1 second for the next 60 million years [http://tf.nist.gov/cesium/fountain.htm] - or at least until the US government stops broadcasting, at which point you'll probably have other things to worry about. When someone asks you for the time, you will be able to give them *The* time.

Great but thick

I first bought a Casio G-Shock type watch back in about '82, a DW-1000, actually a precursor to the G-Shock. Still works great to this day, though I've replaced the battery twice and replaced the resin band with a metal one. This watch has served me well over the years from hiking to scuba diving. So I decided it was time to upgrade to the latest technology - a solar powered G-Shock with "atomic" timekeeping.This new watch performs great so far. It synchronizes to the Fort Collins signal every night without problems. I live roughly 700 miles from the transmitter. In the good old days I used to dial in the time signal on a shortwave radio to synchronize my watches. It's great to have a watch I can forget about setting.I was a little concerned before I bought this watch that Casio was relying on the time sync and the watch might not be accurate without it. This is important to me because I frequently travel internationally. Not a problem. My watch had last been synced about 6 weeks prior to my receiving it, and was off about 12 seconds. That's 2 seconds a week or less than 2 minutes a year.The other feature I especially like is the easy world time - a couple button presses and I can show time at whatever time zone I am in. Other functions like the stopwatch are easy to use without constantly referring to the manual.There are 3 round dials at top. The left acts like an analog minute hand. The center shows the battery charge, and the right shows if any secondary functions are active, like the alarms or stopwatch. The text on the right dial is almost impossible to read regardless of how young your eyes are.I think this watch looks great, but it is thick - almost 5/8 inch thick. So if you like svelte watches this isn't for you. The resin band is integral to the watch, so replacing it with a standard band is not an option. This is probably the only weak point.The manual is small and thick, but can be downloaded in PDF form from the Casio web site.

This is an excellent watch. It is virtually indestructible, feeds on sunlight, and "phones home." The common criticisms of this and its atomic G-Shock siblings are that they are cumbersome and ugly. Admittedly, it is not the slimmest, sleekest watch in the world. And no, it isn't the most elegant either. And clearly, style and comfort do indeed enter into the equation when you are shopping for a watch. But this is not a fashion watch, nor was it ever meant to be one. It is a functional one. You might wear a sleek, beautiful Movado watch to the opera, but you are not likely to subject such a watch to all the stresses and strains of an active lifestyle. This watch will take whatever you can throw at it and then some, and it will be accurate to the atomic second. So, it is a very different kind of watch from a stylish Movado. My Movado sits quietly in the darkness of my jewelry cabinet most of the time; it is "too good" to wear every day.I have worn my atomic G-Shock for over a year now, and have grown to depend on it. However, I recently decided to purchase another. Here's why: The watch does indeed feed on sunlight. You never need to hassle with a battery. You may have it fully charged in October. But as you go into the dark months of winter, without adequate exposure to sunlight, the watch will slowly begin losing its charge. Eventually, in the middle of winter, you may find it going into a state of hibernation if its charge falls below a certain threshold. In that event, all you can do is take it off and leave it in the feeble winter sunlight for a number of days until it is recharged. During that recharging time, you will need a backup watch to wear, if you have one. I didn't. I was originally going to buy a cheap stand-in, but decided instead to buy a second atomic G-Shock, so impressed was I by the first one's resilience and dependability.In summary, this watch is not meant to replace the stylish watch you wear to the opera or other dressy occasions. This is a functional, everyday watch, resilient, self-sufficient, and intelligent.

This box works fine. It is not a work of art. It's a box to keep your watches in and display them. If that's all you need, look no further. Bigger watches are a bit of a problem, since the spacing isn't that great. But you can work around that by staggering the watches a little bit and adjusting the piece you stick in back of the watch. Thick watches will also require a little adjusting. I ordered one and like it enough to get a second one. If you need something super fancy, this is not for you. If you simply need a convenient place to put your watches that isn't ugly (like the cigar box I was using) and will help keep them in good shape (unlike the cigar box I was using) then this is your watch box. It's great for the price.

It Works but Save Your Money For a Better Display Box

It's not a bad watch box it does the job but I would save your money and get a nice wooden box instead. This isn't "beautiful" what so ever. It does function and like I said does the job but in no way is it asthetically pleasing so save your money and but a piano black laqured wooden box you will thank yourself later.

Clean, simple, sturdy; needs more room

There are several more expensive and / or elegant solutions for watch storage. For me, I wanted something that was simple, sturdy, relatively inexpensive and which could hold my collection with room for expansion. This item is perfect in all of those categories.The main thing that I don't like about the case is that there isn't all that much room or space between each watch. I'm not personally a big fan of very large-faced watches but I know that it is something that appeals to many people. My largest comes in at 43mm while my average is about 39mm. I can say that my average watches fit next to one another when oriented in a slightly staggered fashion. The 43mm one has to sit either on an end, or with room on one side so as to fit properly. Watches as large as 47mm seem to be relatively common, and I could see trying to store several of those being a problem with this case once it reaches capacity.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and would easily make it again and/or recommend this product to a friend based on their specific needs.PROS:-Sturdy construction including a well-built latch-Good price-Clean, simple look-Holds several watchesCONS:-Space between watches could be better
